Going to put it at the beginning in case you don't care for the big Black Butler rants: I'm going to wear Ririchiyo to Atlanta Anime Day. I'll have the entirety of spring break to make sure she's sorted, so this will hopefully be enough time to get her prepared for a con. I'm really excited and happy I get to wear her to a small con to begin with.
Now.
I've fallen back into an unhealthy obsession for the second Black Butler musical again, thanks to seeing some of the pictures for the cast for the second performance they'll do of it this year.

Basically, I went back and rewatched it, and now can't stop listening to the songs and whatever. Partially because my friends have decided they want to ditch me once again for now and I have nothing else to do, but that's irrelevant. They've changed A LOT of the cast from what I can tell. The three I am almost positive are still the same are Sebastian, Grell, and Undertaker. There might be more and their hair/makeup has just changed enough to confuse me, but it doesn't look that way.
I am really hoping they film one of the performances of this one. Regardless of it being the same musical, with so much of the cast I know being changed it WILL be different from the first one, and I really want to see what it turns out to be like. I can only cross my fingers that it shows up on Youtube relatively soon after it premiers, if that will happen, and that they haven't sacrificed the quality of the musical for more attractive faces.
On a similar kind of note, though, I have decided to still cosplay Black Butler but just branch off into other characters besides the main earls. I will still cosplay Ciel- He will probably be my plan for AWA, as if I do that I can definitely get pictures of the commissioned costume and meet my commissioner in person. After that, though, I'm not sure.
I'm heavily researching an Undertaker cosplay. He's a very underrated, wonderful character, and all-around just seems like he would be a joy to cosplay. I know he at least won't put the same pressure on me as Ciel does, as he's a pretty rare character here and NOT pressed with creepers and really big yaoi pairings: He's just fun. Doing the scars and makeup (and acting like him) would also be very good practice for makeup for theatre, which I start next year. Also, I was surfing through CosCom and found a member trying to sell their wig for him, so I figured, what the hell, why not? It's a gorgeous wig, and I'm really excited to get the money for it and start on him. I'll most likely just do the default version to start with, and try to get all the details on that (rings, memorial pendants, proper scars, etc.).
And what I've decided for now as I start to want to cosplay Grell too, thanks to Uehara: If I find shoes for Grell, relatively cheap, that look nice, I will get them and start to (however slowly) work on Grell. This may happen late this year, this may happen late next year. I want to cosplay Grell before I leave the Black Butler fandom as he's most of the reason I became interested in the series in the first place and continues to be my favorite and an inspiration to me, but I also know through two failed attempts that he's a very tricky character to pull off. Hopefully by then I'll have cosplayed Undertaker, as aside from some styling, Undertaker and Grell have roughly the same hairstyle, so his wig won't be so daunting to me. Plus, getting shoes, glasses, etc first saves me from nearly finishing the costume but having to rush and settle for some uncomfortable or inaccurate shoes..which I would HATE. I want to get his shoes right, and I'm not sure why it's such a big deal for me, but it is.
If I don't feel like working on him after Undertaker, though, it will probably be Ikki from Amnesia that I work on. As always, though, that's up in the air. Now I'm off to finish watching the backstage segments for the musicals. I hope to see you guys with pictures of Undertaker or Ririchiyo next!
